An outstanding athlete at Durango High School, Albert Pepin went on to become the best all-around athlete to attend the Old Fort. At Fort Lewis A&M in the late 1930s, Mr. Pepin lettered two years in football and basketball and another in tumbling. He would captain both the football and basketball squads at one point during his Aggie career.

Mr. Pepin was given an unexpected honor in 1938 when coach Charles McLain announced his Fort Lewis all-star team, comprised of best gridders since the school first fielded football in 1931. Mr. Pepin was chosen as a first-team halfback.

Mr. Pepin became a teacher after leaving Fort Lewis College.
