DURANGO, Colo. – Fort Lewis College has promoted Hawken Hanna to assistant men's soccer coach for his efforts and dedication to the program during the 2021 season.

Hanna spent the 2021 season as a volunteer, assisting head coach David Oberholtzer and assistant coach Jonathan Berzins in many of the day-to-day operations within the program alongside coaching.

"Hawken was a great addition to our staff during the 2021-22 season," Fort Lewis College Head Coach David Oberholtzer said. "Having him move into our first assistant role will be a great benefit to our current student-athletes and our program as a whole

Last season the Skyhawks finished with an 8-8-1 overall record alongside a 5-5 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference mark.

Hanna helped two Skyhawks, true freshman Tomas Duenes and sophomore Milen Manchev, earn post-season honors by the RMAC. Manchev and Duenes were both presented with Second Team All-RMAC honors, while Duenes was also named the RMAC Freshman of the Year.

Prior to joining FLC Hanna had stops at Central Community College in Grand Island, Nebraska, and Trinidad State Junior College in Trinidad, Colorado.

Fort Lewis will begin its 2022 slate on the road at Texas Permian Basin on Thursday, Aug. 25. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. MDT.
