Sapakoff also started his season off well at the Vigil Open, recording a personal best time of 27:04.50 in the 8K race. The sophomore from Denver, Colo. (Littleton HS) helped the Skyhawks finish third overall.

Fort Lewis will host the Tom Strandt Memorial Run this Saturday, Sept. 14 at 9 a.m. on the campus of Fort Lewis College. Proceeds from the race will benefit Natanya Joy Mallin. For more information on the race, to go www.goskyhawks.com.
