Erika Richards had a career night in the Skyhawks upset win over No. 2 Colorado Mesa University. The Mavericks entered Saturday’s game at Whalen Gymnasium undefeated (25-0, 21-0 RMAC). Against CMU, Richards made 11-of -17 field goals, 5-of-8 three-pointers and 10-of-13 free throws for a career high 37 points. She added five caroms and three assists in 38 minutes of action.
On Friday against the Mountaineers, she posted 20 points after making all five free throws. Three of her field goals against WSCU were from long range.
Richards finished the weekend averaging 28.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and shot 56.7 percent from the floor and 61.5 percent from long range (8-13).
