Maddie Kruger broke the Fort Lewis College 5K record Saturday afternoon at the Fort Hays State University Tiger Open, held at Sand Plum Park in Victoria, Kan.
 
Kruger's 5K time of 17:53.30 broke Kenzie Grant's time of 17:54.5, which was set Sept. 19, 2009 in Riverside, Calif. 
 
The Skyhawks women's team finished sixth overall out of 17 teams with 199 points.  Adams State University won the women's team title with 33 points.
