Jimmy Hall is in his fourth year as head coach of the Skyhawks women's soccer program. Hall was named the 2015 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Coach of the Year after leading the team to a second place finish in the RMAC regular season with an 8-2-1 record (12-5-4). Hall also guided the program to their sixth NCAA post-season appearance.
In three years as the Skyhawks head coach, Hall has notched an overall record of 24-22-11 (.518) and a league mark of 18-13-6 (.568). He has coached 24 RMAC All-Academic performers, 19 all-conference players, seven all-region performers and the 2015 RMAC Goalkeeper of the Year - Caitlyn Espinosa.
Hall, who holds his USSF B Licenses and NSCAA National Diploma, returned to his alma mater as assistant women’s soccer coach in 2011 and is in his sixth year with the women's program. The former Skyhawk soccer standout has deep roots in the Durango soccer community and coaching experience at the collegiate, high school and club levels. He has been involved with the local club, DYSA (Durango Youth Soccer Association) since 2000 as a coach and is currently on the Board of Directors.
Hall spent the 2010 season at Eastern New Mexico University as a graduate assistant for the Zia women’s soccer team. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in sport science at ENMU.
Hall was a volunteer coach for the Fort Lewis men’s soccer team from 2004-06. During that time, the Skyhawks won the 2005 NCAA Division II championship and finished second in the nation in 2006. He participated in practices, worked with goalkeepers, redshirts and other players, warmed up goalkeepers on game days, scouted opponents, and helped with camps, spring fitness sessions and equipment.
Hall was an assistant coach for the Durango High School girls program in 2008, working with the varsity, JV and C teams. He also served as assistant club director for the Durango Youth Soccer Association during 2009-10 and spent several seasons coaching DYSA boys’ and girls’ teams.
Hall played for the Fort Lewis men’s team from 2000-03, winning Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference championships in 2000 and 2001 and qualifying for the NCAA Division II playoffs in ’01.
He continued his playing career at the semi-pro level, spending two seasons for the Albuquerque Asylum, one for the Albuquerque Storm and one for the Bakersfield Brigade.
Hall graduated from Fort Lewis College in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science-exercise specialist option with a minor in coaching. He graduated from Highland High School in Bakersfield, Calif., in 2000, and was a four-year starter at center midfielder and forward for the Scotsmen and the team’s Most Valuable Player.
His professional career has also seen him work as a physical therapy tech at Integrated Physical Therapy in Durango. In this job, he has cared for a diverse group of patients, including those rehabilitating pre- and post-surgery. He also has designed and implemented performance enhancement groups (PEGs), which are fitness classes that use a combination of cardio and plyometric training to improve sport-specific performance in such activities as soccer, volleyball, cycling and skiing.
Hall and his wife, the former Samantha Scales, reside in Durango with their son Liam, and daughter Kendyl. Samantha played soccer for the Skyhawks from 2005-09.
