DURANGO, CO - October 12, 2007 - The Fort Lewis College men's soccer team defeated Regis University 2-0 this afternoon in a pivotal Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) match. The Skyhawks improve to 9-4-1 overall and 6-2-1 in the RMAC, while the Rangers fall to 7-5-1 overall and 5-3-1 in conference play.
A Kieran Hall (Blackburn, Eng./Queens Park) goal in the 61st minute of Friday's game lit the Skyhawks' fire as they revenged a 1-0 loss to Regis earlier this season. Hall connected with the goal as he slit on the grass from about 5-yards off the end line. As he slid towards the goal, the ball, which was served from about 30-yards out by Tom Settle (Portsmouth, Eng./Cams Hill), found his foot and landed in the bottom left corner of the net.
Just under 13-minutes later, Settle served another ball into the box which found the head of David Barden (South Haven, MI/South Haven).
Barden and Hall scored their sixth goals of the season, while Settle handed out his eighth and ninth assists of the season.
The Skyhawks return to action Sunday, October 14th at Noon on Dirks Field against RMAC front-runners, Metro State. Sunday is senior day for the Skyhawks' four graduating seniors.
