DURANGO, CO - October 5, 2007 - The Fort Lewis College men's soccer team fell 5-1 to nationally ranked #4 Midwestern State earlier today in a neutral site game played in Golden, Colorado at Colorado Mines. The Skyhawks fall to 8-3-0 overall, while Midwestern improves to 10-1-0 overall.
In the 14th minute the Skyhawks' Tom Settle (Portsmith, Eng./Cams Hill) scored Fort Lewis' lone goal off a free kick just outside of Midwestern's goal box.
Midwestern then rattled off five unanswered goals to hand the Skyhawks their third loss of the season. Midwestern scored in the 27th minute to tie the game at one a piece until halftime. Four goals in the second half gave the Mustangs the victory.
The Mustangs out-shot the Skyhawks 13-6 including a nine to three advantage in shots on goal.
The Skyhawks return to action Sunday when they play West Texas A&M at 10:30 a.m. in Golden at the Colorado School of Mines.
