DURANGO, CO - October 5, 2007 - The Fort Lewis College women's soccer team was defeated 3-2 this afternoon in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) contest against Mesa State College. The Skyhawks fall to 7-3-2 overall and 2-3-1 in the RMAC, while the Mavericks improve to 6-6-2 overall and 2-4-1 in the conference.

After opening a 2-0 lead and holding a 2-1 advantage at halftime, the Skyhawks gave up two goals in the second half to drop thier third RMAC contest of the season.

Sara Egbom (Albuquerque, NM/Hope Christian) scored in the top right corner of the net on a pass from fellow freshman, Hayley Hollenga (Colorado Springs, CO/Air Academy) in the 33rd minute. Kim Sisneros (Albuquerque, NM/Cibola) scored the Skyhawks second goal in the 36th minute on a penalty kick.

The Mavericks next three goals came in the 40th minute, the 49th minute and the 53rd minute. Their final goal was a penalty kick which Lauren Sell got past Skyhawk goalkeeper Bree Baker (Penrose, CO/Canon City)

The Skyhawks return to action Sunday at 2:00 p.m. when they travel to Adams State.
