Women's Soccer Routs Adams State

Egbom Break Two FLC Records

DURANGO, CO - October 7, 2007 - The Fort Lewis College women's soccer team defeated the Adams State Grizzlies 9-0 this afternoon in their second meeting of the season. The Skyhawks improve to 8-3-2 overall and 3-3-1 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC), while the Grizzlies fall to 2-11-2 overall and 0-7-1 in conference play.

Freshman forward, Sara Egbom (Albuquerque, NM/Hope Christian) scored two goals and four assists in 73-minutes of action to lead the Skyhawks to their eighth victory of the season. She broke the previous Fort Lewis record of three assists in a game shared by Becky Gilmore and Nicole Boesche and broke Kate Mahler's record for points in a game (7) by one as well. She has 10 goals this season in which six are game-winners.

Eight other Skyhawks recorded points in the win; Hayley Hollenga (Colorado Springs, CO/Air Academy) scored two goals, Maddie Stephens (Delores, CO/Delores), Jamie MacArthur (Albuquerque, NM/UNM) and Lorin Anderson each had a goal and an assist, Jessie Davis (Durango, CO/Durango) and Natasha Radishofski (Fort Collins, CO/Rocky Mountain) each score their first goals of their careers, while Kim Sisneros (Albuquerque, NM/Cibola) and Erika Shisler (Durango, CO/Durango) added one assist a piece.

This is the Skyhawks biggest win since September 25, 1999 and only the third time in the program's 15-year history to have score nine or more goals in a single game.

The Skyhawks return to action Friday, October 12th at 1:00 p.m. on Dirks Field again New Mexico Highlands.
