PHOENIX, AZ - November 23, 2007 - The Fort Lewis College women's basketball team defeated Grand Canyon University 80-56 Friday afternoon in Phoenix. The Skyhawks improve to 3-0 on the season, while Grand Canyon falls to 1-2 this season.

The Skyhawks cruised to their third win of the season in their post-Thanksgiving match up. They opened the game with a 24-10 run. They led 42-28 at the half. Midway through the second half the Skyhawks led by as many as 28, their largest of the game. Grand Canyon cut the lead to 24 before dropping their second contest of the season.

Allison Rosel (Colorado Springs, CO/Doherty) led the Skyhawks with 18 points on 8-of-9 from the floor. She added a block, a steal and five rebounds to lead the Skyhawks to their third victory. Rosel's counterpart, Audrey George (Longmont, CO/Niwot) added 12 points and a game-high nine rebounds.

Katie Bodaness (Englewood, CO/Cherry Creek) scored 12 points and grabbed four rebounds, while Lauren Redfern (Carbondale, CO/Basalt) and Laura Haugen (Fort Collins, CO/Poudre) combined for 21 points and four assists.

The Skyhawks return to action tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 p.m. against UC-San Diego in Phoenix.
