DURANGO, CO - December 17, 2007 - The Fort Lewis College men's basketball team defeated the Chadron State Eagles 80-66 Monday night in their second straight Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) home victory. The Skyhawks improve to 6-3 overall and 3-1 in the RMAC, while the Eagles fall to 3-7 overall and 2-2 in conference play.
Tim Crowell (Long Beach ,CA/Cincinnati) and Ryan Johnson (Aurora, CO/Eaglecrest) both scored a game-high 19 points in the Skyhawks win, but Crowell had one of the most impressive nights this season for a Skyhawk. He added eight rebounds and nine assists coming just two boards and one assist shy of the Skyhawks first triple-double.
Devon Manning (Kirtland, NM/Kirtland) scored nine points and grabbed six rebounds, three assits and two steals, while Trent Bowman (Durango, CO/Durango) netted nine points on 4-of-6 from the field.
The Skyhawks shot 53.4% from the floor (31-of-58) and 63.6% from the line (14-of-22) to secure the win and move to 3-1 in conference play.
The Skyhawks return to action Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. against Haskell Indian Nations University in Chinle, AZ.
