Skyhawk Women Win Third-Straight

Rosel Leads Team with Second-Career Double-Double

LAKEWOOD, CO - December 8, 2007 - The Fort Lewis College women's basketball team defeated Colorado Christian University 67-55 Saturday night in their third-straight win. The Skyhawks improve to 6-1 on the season and 2-0 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, while the Cougars fall to 4-6 overall and 1-1 in conference play.

The Colorado Christian women controled all but the final minutes of the first half when the Skyhawks went on a 6-1 run to close the half with a three-point lead. The two teams exchanged points for the first six minutes of the second period, but the Skyhawks' took the lead for good with 13:38 left to play. The Cougars cut the lead to one with 6:05 left, but Fort Lewis then went on 8-0 run to grab a nine-point (57-48) lead. Colorado Christian never got closer then six points with 33-seconds left as the Skyhawks took their second RMAC victory in as many nights.

Allison Rosel (Colorado Springs, CO/Doherty) led the Skyhawks with 14 points on 4-of-8 from the field and 6-of-6 from the line. The sophomore added 12 rebounds for her second career double-double.

Erin Kerr (Buckeye, AZ/Buckeye Union) scored 13 points on 5-of-10 shooting, while Audrey George (Longmont, CO/Niwot) added nine points, four rebounds and two assists.
