DURANGO, CO - August 31, 2007 - The Fort Lewis College Skyhawk volleyball team fell to nationally ranked #8 Ashland University tonight in their second match of the Skyhawk Volleyball Classic. The Skyhawk won game one and fell the the ensuing three games (30-27, 23-30, 33-35, 19-30).

After grabbing game won from the fourth top 20 team they've played this season, the Skyhawks dropped the second game and a long 33-35 decision in game three.

Nicole Schwab (Loveland, CO/Loveland) led the Skyhawks with 19 kills in the match. Jessica Bailey (Ridgefield, WA/Prairie) added 10 kills, while Melissa Childs (Vista, CA/Rancho Bueno Vista) broke her career record for assists with 49.

Adrianne Dettler (Colorado Springs, CO/Palmer) led the Skyhawks with 28 digs, while Sara Feehan (Berthoud, CO/Berthoud) recorded 16 in the loss.

the Skyhawks return to action tomorrow in day two of the Skyhawk Volleyball Classic at approximately 2:00 p.m. against CSU-Pueblo.
