DURANGO, CO - September 1, 2007 - The Fort Lewis College Skyhawk volleyball team defeated Dixie State College in three games (30-20, 30-22, 30-23) to concluded the 2007 Skyhawk Volleyball Classic earlier today.

Sarah Feehan (Berthoud, CO/Berthoud) led the Skyhawks with 17 kills on 40 attempts (.350 hitting percentage, while Nicole Schwab (Loveland, CO/Loveland) tallied 11 kills on 20 attempts (.450 hitting percentage).

Melissa Childs (Vista, CA/Rancho Bueno Vista) concluded the tournament with a 37 assist game, while Adrianne Dettler (Colorado Springs, CO/Palmer) grabbed 17 digs.

Schwab was named the Skyhawk Classic All-Tournament team, while leading the Skyhawks with 49 kills and 15 blocks in the tournament. Feehan tallied 40 kills and 52 digs in the four matches, followed by Jessica Bailey (Ridgefield, WA/Prairie) with 32 kills on 83 attempts (.241 hitting percentage).

Freshman Chelsea Flaming (Durango, CO/Durango) recorded 25 kills in her second weekend as a Skyhawk.

Childs handed out 169 assists with only seven ball handling errors throughout the tournament.

Dettler led the Skyhawks' backrow with 83 digs and only four receiving errors on 101 attempts.

The Skyhawks return to action next weekend as they travel to New Mexico and take on New Mexico Highlands and Western New Mexico on Friday and Saturday respectfully.
