The Fort Lewis men's soccer team rested key players and held only a slim one zero lead at halftime but still managed to pull away in the second half to coast to a seven to zero victory against a struggling Colorado Christian squad. With the victory the Skyhawks move to 9-1-2 on the season and 5-0-2 in conference play.
The Skyhawks first goal came in the 24th minute when Fabian Kling netted a Tom Settle pass to give the Hawks the one zero lead. Six more goals followed (Tom Settle 1, David Barden 2, James Gershfield 1 and Jacob Schmoker 2) to give the Skyhawks the easy win. Tom Settle led all scorers with five points on the afternoon (1 goal and 3 assists) all coming on the Skyhawks first four scores.
The Skyhawks will take on Mesa State on Sunday at noon as part one of the Skyhawk men's and women's soccer doubleheader. The Skyhawks played Mesa once this season on September 21st winning by the score of one to nil.
