Fort Lewis Women's Soccer Beats Cougars 3-0

Erica Shisler scores decisive first goal in the 50th minute

The Fort Lewis College Skyhawks improved to 8-3-1 and 6-0-0 in conference with the three to zero victory on Friday over the Colorado Christian Cougars.  In a gloomy and windy contest the Skyhawks pressured the Cougars relentlessly out-shooting Colorado Christian 29-7 but were unable to net a first half goal.

Their first score of the game came on an Erica Shisler goal on a cross from the far left by Ginny Maddox.  The Skyhawks followed up the aforementioned 49th minute goal when 20 minutes later Jaime MacArthur netted a long bullet of a shot into the upper left hand corner of the net to give the Skyhawks some breathing room for the final 20 minutes.  Nichole Kluk capped the scoring for the Skyhawks when she crossed up the goalie in the 79th minute on the low left side, off of a Jessica Otero pass.

The Skyhawks will take on Mesa State on Friday as the second half of a Skyhawk men's and women's soccer doubleheader.  The Skyhawks and Mavericks already met once this season with the Hawks coming out on top two to nil.
