Fort Lewis Races Past Highlands

Fort Lewis College women's soccer defeated New Mexico Highlands 3-1 Sunday, propelled by a hat trick by Nichole Kluk.  The Skyhawks move to 10-3-2 and remain unbeaten in RMAC play with a record of 8-0-1.

The Skyhawks fell behind early when Veronica Padilla scored for the Cowgirls in the 9th minute.  The Skyhawks would answer in the 15th minute when Kluk hit a bullet in from the top of the box under the diving keeper.  Lorin Anderson was credited with the assist.  The differencemaking goal was scored in the 39th minute when Kluk finshed a Ginny Maddox pass.  Kluk then added one more to get the hat trick in the 66th minute on another Lorin Anderson pass. 

Next the Skyhawks will travel to Denver to take on Colorado Christian.  The next home match will be played on Halloween against Metro State.
