In a long anticipated matchup between Metro State and Fort Lewis the Skyhawks fell behind twice to the Roadrunners but managed to secure a crucial road tie. The Skyhawks play Metros State twice this season the second of the two matchups coming at home, at Dirks field, on Halloween.
The Skyhawks scored to knot the game at 1-1, in the first half on a Jaime Cunningham goal off a Tom Settle corner kick assist. In the second half after surrendering another Roadrunner goal Fabian Kling who was chosen as last week's defensive player of the week in the RMAC scored an unassisted goal to knot the game at 2-2.
With the tie the Skyhawks move to 7-1-2 on the season and 4-0-2 in the RMAC. The Skyhawks (both men's and women's soccer) will return home next weekend to take on Colorado Christian and Mesa State.
