The Fort Lewis women's soccer team completed a successful weekend sweep by defeating Adams State 2-0 on Sunday. The Skyhawks also won a thrilling game against Regis on Friday 4-3 in overtime.
Sunday the Skyhawks were playing a fired up Adams State squad who lost to Fort Lewis College earlier in the season 11-0. In what looked like another blowout the Skyhawks struck first when Jaime MacArthur drilled a 25 foot left footed score coming off a Ginny Maddox pass just 94 seconds into the contest. Sam Smith added another goal just minutes later but the Grizzlies to their credit held the Skyhawks scoreless for the next 85 minutes.
With the victory the Skyhawks move to 7-3-1 (5-0-0 RMAC) on the season. The Skyhawks (both men's and women's soccer) will return home next weekend to take on Colorado Christian and Mesa State.
