Fort Lewis Men's Soccer Season Ends in Loss to Midwestern State

The Fort Lewis Skyhawks could not handle the continuous counter attack of Midwestern State who crushed the Skyhawks dreams of another national championship season in the second round of the NCAA tournament.  The #2 nationally ranked Skyhawks lost 5-0 to the #3 ranked Mustangs of Midwestern State in Wichita Falls, TX.

The Skyhawks kept the match close in the first half but could not finish on some scoring chances and Midwestern capitalized on counter two attack goals from Kyle Kmiec and two more late in the game from Nick Auditore.  Euan Purcell led the Skyhawks in shots on goal with two of the four the Skyhawks managed.

The #2 ranked Skyhawks finish their 2008 season at 17-2-3 and although they are disappointed the Skyhawks will return 10 of 11 starters losing forward Paul Sanchez.
