The Fort Lewis College Skyhawks kept their NCAA playoff hopes alive by beating the CSU-Pueblo 1-0 on Wednesday. With the win the Skyhawks improve their record to 12-6-2 on the season and earn the right to try to continue their tradition of beating Metro State at Metro for the third consecutive season. The Skyhawks have won the last two RMAC tournaments defeating favored Metro State on Metro's turf en route to the title.
Lorin Anderson scored the only goal of the day in the eighth minute on an Erica Shisler assist. Both the teams and the fans had to endure the bitter cold, windy and snowy conditions on Wednesday, as seen in the photo above.
The Skyhawks took the early lead and out shot the Thunderwolves 12-1 in shots on goal, narrowly missing some insurance goals in the second half. In the end the Skyhawks got the job done and fended off the Thunderwolves and will play Metro State on Friday at 2:30 in Denver.
