The Fort Lewis College Skyhawks lost despite leading for much of the game and fell to Regis 67-68, dropping the Skyhawks record to 6-3 (0-1 RMAC). Regis moves to 2-5 (1-0 RMAC) with the victory. The dagger for the Skyhawks was a three pointer made by Jason Burke-Kaveos with nine seconds left in the game to give Regis the one point lead. Trent Bowman had just hit a three to put the Skyhawks up two when Kaveos pulled up from the top of the arc and drained the three and energy out of the building.
Leading the Skyhawks in scoring was DeAndre Landsdowne with 14 points and added five rebounds. Kirk Archibeque added 12 points and seven rebounds and Jordan Brooks narrowly missed another double-double scoring 12 points and grabbing nine rebounds. Leading the Rangers in scoring was Matt Rosinski who tallied 16 points adding four rebounds. Two telling stats were, The Skyhawks were out-rebounded 39-32 and out-scored off the bench 30-12.
The Skyhawks will look to avenge tonight's loss when they take on Metro State tomorrow night at home at 8 p.m.
