PUEBLO, CO - February 1, 2008 - The nationally ranked #11 Fort Lewis College women's basketball team improved to 19-1 on the season and 12-0 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) in a 63-54 victory over the CSU-Pueblo Thunderwolves at the State Fair Events Center in Pueblo. The Thunderwolves fall to 14-5 overall and 8-3 in conference play.

Although the halftime and final score does not show it, this game was very close in the closing minutes. Despite leading 38-30 at halftime and leading by as many as 14 in the first period, the Skyhawks found themselves in a tough battle for a majority of the second half. The Thunderwolves tied the score at 40 just over five minutes into the second half. They then took the 45-44 lead, their only lead of the half, with 12:01 remaining. The game remainded close (within three points) for the next six minutes until the Skyhawks went on a 15-7 run to close the final seven minutes and 36 seconds.

"The difference in the game was the free throws for sure," said head coach Mark Kellogg. The Skyhawks went 15-for-17 from the foul line, including a perfect 9-for-9 in the second half.

"Redfern was awesome today. She's the heart and sole of this group," added Kellogg of the Skyhawks' lone senior. She propelled the Skyhawks second-half comeback and surge with five of the Skyhawks final 15 points.

Kellogg concluded his post game interview saying, "that was a great team effort," as the Skyhawks continue their program-best 16-game winning streak.

Redfern finished with 12 points on 4-of-7 from the field and 3-of-3 from the charity stripe. She added two rebounds, four assists, two blocks and two steals. Allison Rosel (Colorado Springs, CO/Doherty) was the only other Skyhawk in double figures with 13 points on 5-of-9 from the field and 3-of-4 from the line. She also grabbed 10 rebounds in her fourth double-double of the season.

Audrey George (Longmont, CO/Niwot) added nine points and nine boards in the game, while Erin Kerr (Buckeye, AZ/Buckeye Union) scored seven.
