The Fort Lewis College Skyhawks knocked off UCCS 94-75 despite trailing by eight at half.  With the win the Skyhawks move to 13-3 on the season and 4-1 in conference play.  The Skyhawks found a way to win, due in large part to a 54 to 39 rebounding advantage and 20 to 8 advantage on the offensive glass.
Leading all Skyhawk scorers was Kirk Archibeque who scored 21 points and grabbed 16 rebounds.  All and all the Skyhawks had five players score in double figures (Archibeque 21, Ryan Jameson 18, Jordan Brooks 15, DeAndre Landsdowne 14 and Ryan Yates 13).  In second chance points, points off turnovers and points in the paint the Skyhawks had sizeable advantages all helping the Hawks get past UCCS.
On the dunk watch for the evening DeAndre Landsdowne had an explosive one handed dunk in the waneing moments of the game, only to be upstaged by Ryan Yates' dunk attempt which he banged off the iron.  Though glory eluded Yates he hustled back to make a great block on a fast break layup.
The Skyhawks will head to Denver next weekend to take on Colorado School of Mines and Colorado Christian.  The Skyhawks next home game will come on January 24th against Western New Mexico.
