October 23, 2009. Las Vegas, NM. -  The Fort Lewis Volleyball team took care of the Cowgirls of New Mexico Highlands for the second time this season, defeating them in four sets (3-1). Fort Lewis improves to 6-15 overall and 4-9 in the RMAC. 

The Skyhawks cruised past the Cowgirls in the first two sets 25-22 and 25-17 before dropping the third set 25-20. Fort Lewis was able to battle back and come away with the win in the fourth set with a dominating 25-14 victory. 

Coach Shelly Aaland commented after the game "It was really offensive on both sides tonight but we had a lot of players play well." Chelsea Flaming led the Skyhawks with 16 kills and 3 aces followed by Taylor Hilberry who finished with 13 kills. Adriana Saiz tallied 42 assists and 3 kills on the night. On the defensive side, Kelly McDonald recorded 19 digs and Jessica Wilson added 13.

The Skyhawks will wrap up there New Mexico trip with a match Saturday night in Silver City, NM against Western New Mexico at 7:00 pm
