DURANGO, Colo. — No. 25 Regis (10-2 overall, 3-0 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference) deafeated Fort Lewis (3-8, 0-3) in four sets tonight in Whalen Gymnasium. The Rangers prevailed 25-22, 25-11, 22-25, 25-16 to wrap up a three-game sweep on the road against RMAC West Division foes.

“I am pleased with the way the team played together, as we had to play with our lineups,” said eighth-year FLC head coach Shelly Aaland. “We had some good moments that will hopefully turn into victories as we look to starting with the West Division next week.”

A pregame injury to senior outside hitter Jessica Wilson forced Aaland to rotate between reserve outside hitters Julie Oberriter and Taryn Pearce. Pearce, who played on the right side as a true freshman in 2010, has moved to the outside this year and finished the game with seven kills and three blocks. Oberriter had five kills.

Sophomore middle blocker Kristin Stephan led FLC in kills (eight), blocks (six), and service aces (two).

Regis was paced by Kyndell Highland, who had 14 kills and a pair of blocks. Setter Sage Martinson finished with 48 assists and five blocks.

The Rangers dominated the stat sheet, notching 52 kills to FLC's 34 and a .163 hitting percentage to FLC's .066. They also notched 71 digs, led by Cassidee Young's 23.

Fort Lewis returns to the road next weekend, traveling to Adams State (7-4, 1-2) at 7 p.m. next Friday and Colorado Mesa (3-8, 0-3) at 6 p.m. next Saturday.
