DENVER — No. 17 Regis (17-6 overall, 11-2 in the
Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference) rolled past Fort Lewis (9-12, 5-8) in straight sets last night at the Regis Fieldhouse, 25-18, 25-20, 25-19.
Katie Klein led the Rangers with 13 kills and a .550 attack percentage. Regis was efficient with its service, notching seven aces (two each by Caitie Breaux, Sage Martinson, and Rebecca Sponcil).
Kristin Stephan led the Skyhawks with seven kills, while
Ashley Wells added six.
Jenna Kinzer had 10 digs.
After winning its first two games against RMAC East teams, the Skyhawks went 0-5 to the East's tougher teams, all in three-game sweeps.
Fort Lewis returns to RMAC West competition next weekend, when it hosts No. 24 Adams State (17-4, 10-3) at 7 p.m. Friday and Western State Colorado (2-19, 1-12) at 7 p.m. Saturday.
The Grizzlies swept the Skyhawks in their previous meeting on Sept. 29 at ASC's Plachy Hall, 25-17, 25-22, 25-20.
Fort Lewis defeated Western State in four sets (25-20, 13-25, 25-20, 25-22) on Sept. 28.
