GOODWELL, Okla. — It took 58 minutes for the Fort Lewis College volleyball team (1-0 overall) to net its first win of 2012. The Skyhawks defeated Bacone (Okla.) in straight sets, 25-10, 25-14, 25-9 this morning to open the Oklahoma Panhandle State University Aggies Challenge at Oscar Williams Fieldhouse.
“It's a great way to start the season,” said ninth-year FLC head coach Shelly Aaland. “The discipline and execution we showed is a direct correlation to the effort we put in last spring and this preseason.”
Aaland used a dozen players in the match. True freshmen
Ashley Ellis,
Lindley Gallegos, and
Alexa Moser and redshirt freshman
Shelby Lehman all made their collegiate debuts.
