Solid Offense Leads to Skyhawks Fourth Straight Win

Box Score CHADRON, Neb. – Ashely Wells guided the Fort Lewis College volleyball team to their fourth straight win Saturday night at Chadron State College.  The Skyhawks swept the Eagles by scores of 25-22, 25-23 and 26-24.
 
The win, which marks FLC's fourth straight, moves them 5-11 overall and 5-3 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.  CSC drops to 3-14 overall and 0-8 in the league.
 
Wells recorded her ninth double-double of the season after striking down a match high 13 kills and digging up a team high 15 attacks by the Eagles.  Wells committed only four hitting errors on 29 attempts to record a .310 hitting percentage.  Madi Bickle followed with 10 kills and a .154 hitting percentage, while Kristin Stephan posted nine kills on 21 attempts without committing an error (.429).
 
Setter Heather Danny accounted for 36 of the Skyhawks 40 kills, and led them to a team hitting percentage of .225.
 
Defensively, the Skyhawks recorded 60 digs and six blocks.  Stephan assisted on three blocks while Wells assisted on two and added a solo block.
 
The Eagles were led by Barbie DeCent with 10 kills, Mariah Conyers with 17 set assists, and Alyssa Bauer with a match high 23 digs.
 
Fort Lewis will continue their road swing next weekend.  The Skyhawks will play at Colorado Christian Friday night at 7 p.m., and at Colorado Mines Saturday at 5 p.m.
