Skyhawks Shutout ThunderWolves on Senior Night

Box Score DURANGO, Colo. – Playing in their last home match of the season, the Fort Lewis College volleyball team sent its three seniors off the court with a 3-0 sweep over CSU-Pueblo Saturday night at Whalen Gymnasium (25-23, 27-25, 25-12). 
 
Prior to tonight's match, the Skyhawks honored the trio of seniors – Hannah Starbuck, Jenna Kinzer and Kristin Stephan.
 
Junior Ashley Wells was solid offensively with 17 kills and a .351 hitting percentage.  Wells, who also had 13 digs, committed only four hitting errors on 37 attempts.  Starbuck added 10 kills while Stephani Sonka posted seven kills and no errors for a .538 hitting percentage. 
 
Heather Danny led the team to an overall .261 hitting mark and notched 39 set assists.  Kinzer combined with Wells to post 35 of the Skyhawks 57 digs.  Fort Lewis was untouchable in the third set, recording only one hitting error for a .684 hitting percentage.
 
The ThunderWolves were led by Morgan Wilkening (14 kills) and Kacy Griffin (32 assists).  CSUP hit .176 for the match, tallied 37 set assists and 42 digs.
 
Fort Lewis will face top seed Colorado Mines Tuesday night in the first round of the RMAC Tournament.
