Box Score 2 GOLDEN, Colo. – Tarleton State University and No. 22 Central Washington University handed the Fort Lewis College volleyball team 3-0 setbacks today at the Colorado School of Mines Oredigger Classic.
The Skyhawks fell 26-24, 25-16, and 25-11 in the morning match against TSU.
Ashley Wells led both teams with a match high 15 kills. She recorded a double-double as she added 12 digs to her 15-kill count.
Heather Danny recorded 16 set assists to go with her three digs and one block.
Fort Lewis amassed 31 kills against TSU, but committed 29 hitting errors to contribute to their .018 hitting percentage. As a team, TSU posted 38 kills with a .292 hitting percentage, and 8.5 team blocks.
In the night match against the 22
nd ranked team in the nation, the Skyhawks fared better, notching 41 kills to go with their 59 defensive digs and five blocks. Wells recorded another double-double with 15 digs and a match high 14 kills.
Jenna Kinzer contributed 31 digs, while Danny recorded a match (tying) high 32 set assists.
Fort Lewis (0-6) will play two more matches tomorrow against Grand Valley State at 10 a.m., and Texas Woman's at 2:30 p.m.
