Volleyball Loses 3-1 Decision at Colorado Mesa

Box Score GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Facing an 8-2 Colorado Mesa University squad on the road Tuesday night, the Fort Lewis College volleyball team was unable to wrap up an upset win over the Mavericks.  The Skyhawks lost in four sets – 25-18, 18-25, 13-25 and 17-25.
 
The Skyhawks hit a solid .250 in set one, posting 11 kills on 28 attempts (four errors).  Fort Lewis struggled the rest of the match offensively, posting a .006 hitting percentage in the next three sets.
 
As a team, the Skyhawks notched six blocks, three of which came from Madi Bickle.  Bickle also added 11 kills and hit .375 (two errors on 24 attempts).  Heather Danny contributed 25 set assists, while Jenna Kinzer and Ashley Wells combined for 24 digs.  Wells also posted double digit kills with 10.  Hannah Starbuck tied the team lead with Bickle in kills (11).
 
Colorado Mesa's Melissa Hess lead all players with 17 kills, while Jordyn Moody posted a match high 48 assists. 
 
The Skyhawks (1-10, 1-2 RMAC) will continue their road swing, playing their 12th straight match on the road Friday night at Western New Mexico in Las Vegas, N.M.
