SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – The Fort Lewis College volleyball squad (0-3, 0-0 RMAC) fell to California State-Los Angeles Saturday morning, 3-0, in the Cal State-San Bernardino Coyote Classic. The win improves CSULA to 2-1 on the season.
Both teams matched each other evenly at the net with 33 kills each. The difference in the match came in the team's serves, as CSU-LA notched 12 aces to the Skyhawks one.
Junior
Heather Danny (Albuquerque, N.M./Cueva HS) and junior
Ciara Krening (Loveland, Colo./Thompson Valley) shared the setting duties for Fort Lewis, recording 15 and 11 set assists each, respectively. Junior
Ashley Wells (Grand Junction, Colo./Central HS) accounted for 10 of the Skyhawks 33 kills, while senior
Kristin Stephan (Phoenix, Ariz./Mountain Pointe HS) and junior
Stephani Sonka (Castle Rock, Colo./Douglas County HS) each added six. Wells' 10 kills were a match high.

Jenna Kinzer (Colorado Springs, Colo./Rampart HS) dug up 10 attacks from CSULA, while Wells and freshman
Kennedy Clark (Durango, Colo./Durango HS) each tallied eight digs.
The Skyhawks will play their fourth and final match of the Classic at 2:30 p.m. (PDT) against Cal Poly Pomona.
