Volleyball Posts First Win of RMAC Season

Box Score DURANGO, Colo. – September 20, 2014 – The Fort Lewis College volleyball team snapped a two match home losing streak Saturday afternoon after defeating Black Hills State University in three sets (25-14, 27-25, 26-24).  The win was the first for the Skyhawks in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and fourth overall, moving their record to 4-7 overall and 1-2 in the RMAC.
 
The Skyhawks started the match hitting .250 at the net with 12 kills on 28 attempts (five errors) and forced the Yellow Jackets into committing eight hitting errors and only six kills. 
 
Ashley Wells led both teams with13 kills.  She added 10 digs and three blocks (two solo).  Mallory Dill accounted for nine kills and a match high .471 hitting percentage.  Ciara Krening tallied 23 assists and Kennedy Clark added 16.  All Dell'Amico posted a match high 22 digs.
 
The Yellow Jackets were led by Shelby Mayer's 10 kills and Brynn Eckhardt's 25 assists.
 
Fort Lewis will hit the road for five straight conference matches, beginning next Thursday, Friday and Saturday against UC-Colorado Springs, MSU Denver and Colorado Mines.
