DURANGO, Colo. – October 13, 2015 – Fort Lewis College came close to pushing a fifth set Tuesday night against Adams State University after scoring five straight points to bring the Skyhawks within one point, 24-23, but a kill by Mallory Grimsrud gave ASU the 3-1 match win.
Fort Lewis moves to 4-13 on the year and 1-8 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. Adams State improves to 4-13 overall and 3-6 in the RMAC.
Kendra Swackenberg accounted for 16 assists and
Delaney Scanlan added 10 as part of the team's 33 assists.
Matisse Monty hit .114 at the net and led the team with 10 kills.
Maddie LeBlanc and
Gabriella Hickman each tallied eight kills. Monty led the team with 15 digs followed by Ally Dell'AMico's 13 digs.
The Skyhawks tallied nine team blocks with LeBlanc assisting on five.
Fort Lewis will remain home to play host to Colorado Mesa University on Friday at 7 p.m. and Westminster College 5 p.m.
