Women’s Basketball Dominant in Road Win at WSCU

GUNNISON, Colo. – December 19, 2015 – All 11 Fort Lewis College women's basketball players played at least 10 minutes and scored at least three points as the Skyhawks posted a 39-point win at Western State Colorado University Saturday night, 84-45.

"It was a game where everyone played and that's a good feeling," said head coach Jason Flores. "It's fun when you can do that.  We came out with more energy and more fight tonight.  We weren't going to let this one slip by.  We were disappointed with last night.  Our scoring was really spread out tonight.   It was a fun game and a good team win.  Hopefully we can use that and be productive during the break and carry that into our next games."

Five players scored in double digits with Kate Bayes leading both teams with 12 points to go with her four rebounds and three steals.  Mary Rambo recorded her third double-double of the season after scoring 10 points and pulling down 10 rebounds (seven offensive rebounds).

Four Skyhawks came off the bench to net at least 10 points.  Dallas Dickerson and Victoria Trowbridge each scored 11 points and Emily McCue and Ande Lampert added 10 each.  Sydni Brandon subbed in to post a game high five steals and add seven rebounds and three points.

FLC dominated the Mountaineers in nearly every statistical category, outscoring WSCU in the paint (36-14), fast break points (23-0), points off of turnovers (44-7) and bench points (43-9).

FLC will return to the hardcourt when they play host to UCCS at 12 p.m. on Jan. 1 and MSU Denver at 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 2.
