ST. CHARLES, Mo. – April 10, 2015 – The Fort Lewis College women's lacrosse team led Lindenwood University at two different points during Friday night's game, but the Lions came out victorious, 20-7 . With the win, LU finished the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference season undefeated at 6-0 and won the RMAC regular season for the second straight season. With the loss, the Skyhawks move to 6-3 overall and 2-1 in league games.
Freshman
Taylor Cabrera scored all four of the Skyhawks first half goals, marking a career high (previous career high was three goals).
Rebecca Miller added the Skyhawks fifth goal of the game to start the second half, followed by Cabrera's fifth goal.
Sara McMahon netted the seventh and final goal of the game for FLC.
The Skyhawks trailed the Lions at the half, 9-4, and were out-scored in the second half, 11-3. FLC was out-shot, 37-19 and won 10 of the 29 draw controls. Six of the Skyhawks seven goals came from free position shots.
Fort Lewis will play the remainder of their three regular season games at home. The Skyhawks will play host to Regis University on Friday, April 17 at 4 p.m. followed by Sunday's match against Colorado State-Pueblo at 1 p.m.
