DURANGO, Colo. – April 17, 2015 –
Nikki Fry's third goal of the season came with just less than four minutes left in regulation to tie the game at 10-10 Friday afternoon against Regis University at Ray Dennison Memorial Field. The Rangers would score the eventual game-winner 53 seconds later to post an 11-10 decision.
The loss moves to the Skyhawks to 7-4 overall and 3-2 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. With the win, the Rangers move to 10-4 overall and 5-1 in league games and will host the 2015 RMAC Lacrosse Tournament.
The first half alone featured four lead changes and four ties.
Taylor Cabrera recorded a hat trick in the first 26 minutes of the game. Her first goal of the game came from a free position shot at 18:59 that gave the Skyhawks their first lead of the game, 2-1.

Megan Longtain and
Jam Vertner each found the back of the net in the first half as the Skyhawks trailed, 7-6, heading into halftime.
Rebecca Miller, Vertner, Carpenter and Fry accounted for four of the Skyhawks second half goals. The Skyhawks faced their largest deficit of the game, 10-8, with 9:20 left in regulation, but Carpenter's goal at 5:48 followed by Fry's goal at 3:58 knotted the game at 10-10.
Regis outshot the Skyhawks, 22-19, and won the draw control battle, 12-10. Fort Lewis picked up 11 ground balls and forced Regis to commit 13 turnovers.
Cabrera and Fry led the team with five shots each. Carpenter picked up a team high three ground balls and Fry won three draw controls.
Ally Guerrero made eight saves on 19 shot attempts on goal.
