Box Score 2 GOODWELL, Okla. – September 5, 2015 – Coming off of Friday's 3-1 setback to Sterling College, the Fort Lewis College volleyball team rebounded to win both matches on Saturday and win the 2015 Oklahoma Panhandle State University Aggies Challenge Tournament. FLC improves to 3-1 on the young season.
The Skyhawks opened Saturday's competition with a 3-1 win over Northwestern Oklahoma Panhandle State University. The win moved the Skyhawks into the championship match against Sterling College which resulted in a 3-1 win.
Against NWOSU, FLC tallied 46 digs, 33 assists, 35 kills, seven aces and hit .094 at the net.
Matisse Monty led the offensive attack with 12 kills.
Gabriella Hickman added seven followed by
Shelby Lehman's six kills.
Kendra Swackenberg and
Delaney Scanlan combined for 28 of the Skyhawks 33 set assists.
In the championship match, Monty led FLC again with 10 kills on 35 attempts. Hickman posted eight kills followed by Lehman's seven and
Maddie LeBlanc's five kills.
Four Skyhawks recorded at least 11 digs with
Ally Dell'Amico notching a team high 21. Swackenberg finished the match with 13 assists and 13 digs. Scanlan notched 18 set assists and 11 digs.
Fort Lewis will travel to California State University San Bernardino Sept. 11-12 for four matches against Cal Poly Pomona, CSU-Dominguez Hills, CSU-East Bay and CSU-SB.
