Fort Lewis College is headed to San Bernardino, Calif. for their second tournament of the preseason.  The Skyhawks will face Cal Poly Pomona and California State, Dominguez HIlls on Friday.  Day two will feature California State, East Bay and host school, California State, Dominguez Hills.

FLC is 3-6 all-time against this weekend's opponents.  The Skyhawks are 1-1 overall against CPP (0-1 in neutral site matches) and 1-1 against CSUDH (1-1 in neutral site matches).  The Skyhawks won their lone meeting against CSUEB on Oct. 11, 1985.  They will be looking for their first win against San Bernardino, as they face the Coyotes for the fifth time in school history.

The Fort Lewis College volleyball program started their 2015 season going 3-1 at the Oklahoma Panhandle State University Aggies Challenge.  The Skyhawks three wins earned them the OPSU Aggies Challenge championship title.

The last time the Skyhawks opened their season with three or more wins was in 2010 when they went 4-0 in Golden, Colo.

Matisse Monty led the Skyhawks offense with 3.06 kills per set.  She also hit .194 at the net and added 41 digs and three blocks.

Delaney Scanlan made her Skyhawk debut and averaged 5.33 assists per set to go with her 25 digs.  Freshman Kendra Swackenberg stepped onto the court for the first time, too, this past weekend, recording a majority of her 38 assists on Saturday when the Skyhawks ran a 6-2 offense.

Libero Ally Dell'Amico paced the Skyhawks back row with 82 digs (5.12 digs per set). She also tied for team high honors in aces with eight (Gabriella Hickman).

Eight student-athletes return from last year's program: Rachel Hendrick, Ally Dell'Amico, Shelby Lehman, Lindley Gallegos, Hannah Hargrove and Emily Dellenbach.  Bella Bernazzani and Clara Salopek redhisrted as true freshman.

The Skyhawks return three starters from last year's team: Shelby Lehman and Emily Dellenbach, including libero Ally Dell'Amico.

The 2015 roster features nine newcomers: freshmen Alyssa Cortez, Gabriella Hickman, Maddie LeBlanc, Hannah Martinez, Matisse Monty, Johannah Peterson and Kendra Swackenberg, and junior Nicole Williams.  Delaney Scanlan transfers into the program from South Mountain Community College.

Head coach Kelley Rifilato is in her third year at the helm of the program.  She has guided the Skyhawks to an 18-36 overall record in her first two years.

Assisting head coach Kelley Rifilato is first year assistant coach Gabriella Hochanadel.  Hochanadel is the daughter of Rifilato.  She  played for her mother at Bayfield High School before becoming an all-conference setter at Adams State University.  Tessa Andrews also enters her third year on the sidelines with Rifilato.  Andrews was an All-RMAC performer at Mesa State College (now Colorado Mesa University) from 2007-2010.
