Box Score GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – October 14, 2016 – Trailing 2-0 in the second half, the Fort Lewis College women's soccer rally fell short to Colorado Mesa University Friday night at Walker Field in Grand Junction, Colo. The Skyhawks dropped a 2-1 decision to the Mavericks to move to 6-5-1 overall and 5-3-0 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
Both teams headed into halftime with a 0-0 tie before Mackenzie King gave the Mavericks a 1-0 advantage. Alexis Allard gave CMU a 2-0 lead at 64:42 before
Haleigh Macomb scored her first goal of the season to bring the Skyhawks to within one goal of tying the game.
Meredith Curran assisted on Macomb's goal who tapped the ball into the net at 71:12.
FLC was outshot by CMU, 10-5, and 5-3 shots on goal.
Courtney Riley accounted for three of the Skyhawks five shot attempts, two of which landed on frame.
Kaylee Mickens played all 90 minutes in goal, making three saves.
The Skyhawks will travel to Westminster College on Sunday to face the Griffins at 1 p.m.
