CHADRON, Neb. – December 30, 2016 – The Fort Lewis College women's basketball team won their fifth straight game Friday night with a 76-69 win at Chadron State College. The Skyhawks improve to 10-2 overall and 5-2 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. The Eagles drop to 2-8 overall and 2-5 in league games.
Alyssa Yocky led both teams with 21 points and 17 rebounds for her third double-double of the season. She added four assists and blocked one shot.
Briana Clah made all four free throw attempts as part of her 14 points. She added five rebounds and a game high five assists.
Kaitlyn Romero came off the bench to score 14 points.
Kayla Herrera chipped in 13 points and
Shelby Patterson knocked in 11 points.
The Skyhawks, who led by as many as 12 points in the third quarter, finished the game making 41.3 percent from the floor (26-of-63) and 30 percent from long range (6-of-20).
FLC outscored the Eagles in the paint, 30-20, and on second chance points, 17-12.
Fort Lewis College will travel to Regis University on Saturday. Tipoff is slated for 5 p.m.
