Men’s Soccer Falls at home to #12 Regis, 2-1 in 2OT

DURANGO, Colo. – September 18, 2016 -- Regis University, ranked No. 12 in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll, edged past the Fort Lewis College men's soccer team in double overtime Sunday afternoon at Dirks Field, 2-1.
 
Tom Grimly found the upper right corner of the net from a long throw-in with only 18 seconds left in the second overtime period to keep the Rangers undefeated at 5-0-0 (2-0-0 RMAC).  The loss moves the Skyhawks to 2-4-0 overall and 1-1-0 in the conference.
 
Grimley scored the first goal of the game in the 55th minute to break a 0-0 tie.  Salifu Jatta notched his first goal of the season and tied the game at 88:38 on a penalty kick, to send the game into overtime.
 
FLC edged the Rangers on shot attempts, 19-14.  Both teams landed six shots on goal.
 
Jatta posted a game high six shots and three shots on target. 
 
Elliot Chadderton made four saves between the posts to move to 2-3-0 on the season.
 
The Skyhawks will travel to Adams State University on Wednesday at 3 p.m. and CSU-Pueblo on Sunday at 1 p.m.
