Alyssa Yocky and
Shelby Patterson recorded career highs in scoring Saturday night to lead the Fort Lewis College women's basketball team to a 16-point win at home over South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, 76-60.
Yocky scored 17 of her game high 25 points in the first half. She netted 11-of-15 field goals and pulled down eight rebounds.
Patterson hit 6-of-12 field goals and 6-of-7 free throws for 19 points.
Briana Clah chipped in 13 points, seven rebounds and four assists.
The Skyhawks held a 40-34 lead over the Hardrockers after the first two quarters and outscored South Dakota Mines by 10 in the second half, 36-26, including 22-13 in the final quarter.
The Skyhawks led for almost 35 minutes of the game. FLC finished making 40 percent from the floor (28-of-70). The Hardrockers were held to a 29.5 field goal shooting mark (18-of-61).
Fort Lewis held a 56-44 rebounding advantage, including a 19-15 advantage on the offensive glass. The Skyhawks scored 15 second chance points to the Hardrockers seven.
FLC will remain home next Friday and Saturday when they play host to Regis University and Chadron State College.
