DENVER – October 31, 2017 – The Fort Lewis College women's soccer team's season came to a close Tuesday afternoon after suffering a 6-1 setback at Regis University in the quarterfinal round of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference championship tournament.
The Skyhawks entered the tournament as the No. 8 seed with a 4-8-0 conference record. The Rangers are the regular season champions with an 11-0-1 RMAC record.
Alicia Sanchez scored her team leading fifth goal of the season just 5:41 into the game.
Jenna Brown found Sanchez who took a shot from 28 yards out into the back of the net for a 1-0 FLC lead.
Tori Rinsen knotted the game at 1-1 in the 12
th minute as the Rangers scored six unanswered goals, including four in the second half.
FLC was held to four shot attempts in the game (three on goal).
Ally Holloway led FLC with two shots (one shot on goal).
Ali Miller played 62 minutes between the posts, making four saves and allowing five goals.
Kaylee Mickens entered the game in goal for FLC for the final 28 minutes.
Regis posted 26 shots to the Skyhawks four. Rikki Fix led both teams with five shots.
Tuesday's loss ends FLC's 2017 record at 4-11-1. Fort Lewis lost their final five games of the season while being outscored, 19-3.
