DURANGO – November 11, 2017 – Playing their second straight game at home in Whalen Gymnasium, the 22
nd-ranked Fort Lewis College women's basketball team posted a 71-54 win over Eastern New Mexico University Saturday night.
The win improves the Skyhawks to 2-0 on the young season. ENMU drops to 0-2.
The Skyhawks held a six point lead at halftime, 30-24, but outscored ENMU in the second half, 41-30.
Vivian Gray led all scorers with a career high 30 points and was one rebound short of a double-double. Gray netted 8-of-16 from the floor and 14-of-15 from the charity stripe.
Senior guard
Astrea Reed tallied 17 points, five rebounds and two assists.
FLC outscored ENMU in every quarter, including 14 points in the third quarter, 24-10.
Fort Lewis hit 20-of-60 field goals for 33.3 percent and only 1-of-9 from three-point range (11.1 percent).
The Skyhawks will continue their three game homestand on Thursday against Northern New Mexico. Tip off is at 5:30 p.m.
