ALBUQUERQUE – November 5, 2017 – The Fort Lewis College women's basketball team faced the University of New Mexico Lobos Sunday afternoon at Dreamstyle Arena. The Lobos won the exhibition game, 84-68.
After being outscored 48-26 in the first half, the Skyhawks outscored the Lobos in the second half, 42-36.
Freshman
Vivian Gray led all scorers with 17 points. Gray netted 7-of-14 field goals and 3-of-5 from the charity stripe, and added nine rebounds and two assists.
Sydney Candelaria came off the bench to net nine points and dished out a team high three assists.
Olivia Gray and
Astrea Reed each added eight points.
Jordan Carter blocked three of the Skyhawks four blocks in the game to go with her six points and five rebounds.
FLC finished the game shooting 41.2 percent from the floor (28-of-68) and 58.3 percent from the charity stripe (7-of-12).
Fort Lewis will open the regular season at home Nov. 10-11. FLC will face Texas-Permian Basin on Friday at 11 a.m., and Eastern New Mexico University on Saturday at 7 p.m.
