Gray Makes Game-Winning Jumper at Westminster

Flores Wins 100th Career Game

SALT LAKE CITY – December 15, 2017 – Fort Lewis College freshman Vivian Gray made a jumper with five seconds left in regulation to give the 16th-ranked Skyhawks a 63-62 lead with five seconds left in regulation and their 10th win of the season.
 
With Friday's win, the Skyhawks improve to 10-1 overall and 5-1 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.  Westminster drops to 3-6 overall and 2-3 in the RMAC.  The win also marks head coach Jason Flores' 100th career win.
 
The Skyhawks trailed WC for almost 33 minutes, but outscored the Griffins in the second half by six points.
 
Gray led all scorers with 24 points after making 11-of-18 field goals and 1-of-2 free throws.  She added a team high six rebounds and five steals, and accounted for two of the Skyhawks four blocks.
 
Briana Clah dished out five assists and netted nine points.  Kayla Herrera posted a game high six assists and chipped in four points and three rebounds.
 
FLC shot 45.2 percent for the game, hitting 28-of-62 field goals.  The Skyhawks made 2-of-3 free throws, shooting 12 fewer than the Griffins who made 10-of-15 attempts. 
 
Fort Lewis will play host to Northern New Mexico College on Monday, Dec. 18 at 5:30 p.m.
