Box Score PUEBLO, Colo. – February 4, 2017 – Facing the No. 3 ranked team in Division II, the Fort Lewis College women's basketball team dropped a 66-50 decision Saturday night against the undefeated Colorado State University-Pueblo ThunderWolves at Massari Arena.
The loss snapped a three game winning streak by the Skyhawks as they move to 16-6 overall and 11-6 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. The ThunderWolves improve to 23-0 overall and 17-0 in the RMAC.
FLC trailed by as many as 11 points in the second quarter, 28-17, but closed the half on an 8-2 to run to go into halftime trailing 30-25. FLC opened the second half outscoring CSUP, 7-4, to cut into their lead by two points, 34-2. CSU-Pueblo responded to take a 12 point lead in the third quarter after going on a 12-2 run.
Fort Lewis was outscored in the second half, 36-25.
Kayla Herrera was the lone Skyhawk to score in double figures. Herrera made 4-of-9 field goals and 3-of-4 free throws for 13 points.
Alyssa Yocky added nine points, eight rebounds, two steals, an assist and a blocked shot.
Natalie Stilwell came off the bench to net nine points and pull down six rebounds.
The Packs Tuileisu Anderson led all scorers with 26 points.
FLC shot 32.1 percent from the floor (17-of-53) and 59.1 percent from the free throw line (13-of-22).
The Skyhawks will return home to Whalen Gymnasium to play host to Western State Colorado University and Colorado Mesa University Feb. 10-11. Both games will start at 5:30 p.m. each night.
